About this tour

Did you know the Rosario Islands hold a deep African heritage? Spend a day in Orika, the Afro-Caribbean community of Isla Grande, inside the Corales del Rosario National Natural Park.

Five activities in one day: the history of the palenques and the fight for freedom, a canoe ride through the mangroves, a visit to the community museum with local knowledge keepers, a hike with island views, and snorkeling over the coral reef.

This is a visit to understand and support conservation tourism in one of Colombia’s national parks, which protects 7 ecosystems, including the most extensive coral reef on the Colombian Caribbean coast. Your hosts are the community and “guardians” of the island.
