The short answer: you can visit Colombia’s Coffee Region in any month. The temperature stays pleasant all year because of the altitude. What changes is rain, crowds and hotel prices. For the clearest views and the driest trails, aim for December to February or June to August. For fewer people and lower hotel rates, choose March to May or October to November and carry a rain jacket.

Weather by season

Months Weather What to expect
December – February Driest Clear mornings, best views, busiest holidays
March – May Rainy Lush green hills, afternoon showers, fewer visitors
June – August Drier Good hiking weather, mid-year holiday crowds
September – November Rainy Quiet trails, flexible hotel availability

Rain in the mountains usually arrives in the afternoon, so plan hikes and viewpoints in the morning.

Hotel seasons and prices

Our package rates follow the hotels’ seasons:

  • Low season: most of the year, roughly January 19 to April 10, April 20 to June 12 and July 20 to December 19.
  • Mid season: June 13 to July 20 and holiday weekends.
  • High season: Holy Week, the October school break and December 19 to January 11.

Exact dates vary by hotel, and we confirm them in your quote. If you are flexible, traveling in low season is the easiest way to lower the price. Book at least 60 days ahead and our hotel packages also come with an early-booking discount of up to 10%.
